Reservations, Rates and Rules

Reservations

• Reservations may be requested on our website Contact page, by phone (423) 735-0696, or in person.
• You must be at least 18 years old to reserve a site.
• All reservations will require a deposit.
• One to three nights require a one-night deposit.
• More than three nights require two-night deposit.
• Confirmation will be sent by mail, e-mail, or phone, whichever you prefer.
• Payment in full is required at check-out by cash, check, money order or credit card(Visa,MC,Discover).
• Make checks payable to Blackberry Blossom Campground.
• Any check returned for NSF will be charged an extra $25.00 service charge.

Rates

• Rate for each campsite is $22.00 per night and is based on two adults and two children, 6 to 18 years old, at each site.
• Maximum 6 people per site.
• Additional adults: $5.00/night
• Additional children: $3.00/night. Children under 6 are free.
• Active Military discount: 20% off all campsite fees ~Thank you to all military families for your sacrifice!
• Deposits will be refunded if cancellation is made one week before check-in date.
• No refunds for inclement weather. No-shows forfeit deposit.

Sites

• Each tent campsite includes fire ring, cooking grate, picnic table and 2 chairs.
• Campsites for larger groups can be accommodated by combining several sites together but are based on availability. Reserve early for these sites. Please contact us for group rates.

Set-up Tent Sites

Completely set-up tent sites may be rented by reservation only. You will arrive to a fully set-up campsite ready for use. When leaving, site and rental gear must be cleaned but is left set up. Each Site Includes:

• 6-person tent
• 4 camp chairs
• Camp kitchen provisions:
  • propane two burner camp stove with 1 bottle propane
  • cooking pots and basic cooking utensils
  • enamel eating plates & utensils for four

All inclusive rental rates for these sites, based on four people per site: $55.00 per night. Same reservation and deposit policy as for regular site applies. See suggested packing list for items you may consider bringing.

Checking In and Out

• All guest and visitors must check-in at the camp store.
• Persons needing assistance getting gear to site may request help upon arrival at camp store
• Check in time is after 2:00 pm
• Check out before 12:00 noon
• Early check in may be available if site is unoccupied.
• You're welcome to spend the day on the farm and on our hiking trails after check out, but please break camp first so we may have the site ready for the next campers.

Visitors

• Day visitors of registered campers are welcome during the hours of 7:00 am to 11:00 pm.
• All visitors must register at the camp store.
• If staying overnight, the additional person at campsite rate is charged.
• Gates are closed at 11:00 p.m.

Rental Equipment

We do have a limited amount of rental equipment including battery tent lights, camp pads, cots, cast iron cookware, dishes, utensils, etc. Please call for availability

Camp Store

Visit our camp store for snacks, drinks, camping essentials, disposable cameras, ice, batteries, morning coffee, toys, farm-made crafts, books, souvenirs, fresh vegetables, jellies, jams homemade bread and fruit.

Activities

• We have 2 marked hiking trails on the property.
• Campers may check out board games, puzzles, and sporting equipment at the Camp Store.
• Bicycle riding is permitted only in the field below the bathhouse and state law requires helmets.
• Swimming in the pond is not permitted.
• Fishing in the pond is catch and release only. Fishing is for registered campers only.
• See Area Attractions for day trips.

Vehicles

• Two vehicles per reservation are allowed.
• All vehicles are to be parked in the parking area near the camp store, no cars are allowed in campground site area.
• Keep doors to vehicles locked at all times and store valuables out of view.

General Ground Rules

Safety, IMPORTANT! Please Read!!!

• Blackberry Blossom is a working farm in a remote Appalachian mountain terrain.
• There are assumed risks that are unpredictable.
• By coming onto our property for any purpose, you assume all responsibility for yourself, your family, pets, and any guests you are traveling with.
• This includes your personal property.
• We assume no responsibility for your safety or personal property.
• Please follow our rules to STAY SAFE!!! We'll do our part and you do yours.

Wild animals

You may encounter black bear, wild turkey, raccoon, possum, fox, whitetail deer, chipmunk, skunk, ground hog, flying squirrels, bats, owls, Canadian geese, ducks, songbirds, spiders, snakes and insects. Please do not feed any animal you may come across, and take extra care with food at your campsite. All food and coolers should be stored away from your tent area. Bag all food and toiletries in zip lock bags or snap food storage containers to keep insects out and food smells in so they won't attract animals. NEVER store food or scented toiletries in your tent. Even a piece of gum or food wrapper can attract a wild animal to your tent. Check children's backpacks and clothes and teach them of this danger!

Camper Behavior

We have a zero tolerance for drug use or drunkenness. No firearms or fireworks are permitted at any time. Disorderly conduct of any kind will not be tolerated. Profanity or loud behavior is not the family atmosphere we are promoting. If you smoke, please do it away from other people and dispose of cigarette butts in trash. Violation of these rules will result in being asked to leave with no refund.

Quiet Hours

Please be respectful of other campers at all times. Acoustic music (guitars and other instruments) are welcome in our campground, electronic devices are discouraged but allowed only with headphones. Observe quiet hours between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, so that noise from your campsite will not keep campers from another site awake. * Camp store opens daily @7:00 AM with fresh coffee and newspaper - it's a great place to watch the day come to life before others awake.

Trash and Recycling

Containers are available throughout the campground and are emptied frequently. Never leave a trash bag at your campsite. Put all food scraps in trash; never throw them into the woods. We compost vegetable scraps in our garden and if you're interested, we'll provide a covered bucket for this and pick it up when we pick up the trash.

Fire Safety

All fires are to be kept small and only in designated fire rings at each campsite. Never leave campsite with any fire smoldering in fire ring. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp store. Picking up dead wood on the ground is permitted around your own site. If fires are banned for local fire hazard reasons, you'll be notified.

Pets

We understand that your pets are part of your family and sometimes travel with you. All pets must be kept on a leash at all times and have current proof of Rabies Vaccination. Pets are limited to 2 per campsite. If your dog is prone to barking in unfamiliar places, it may be best to leave him at home. Out of respect to your camp neighbors, consider this before bringing your animal. Polite pets and courteous owners are welcome, as are all Service Animals. Clean up feces immediately and dispose of properly in trash. Never leave your pet unattended anywhere. You are responsible for any damage your pet causes.

Native plant and animal protection:

We have several endangered and threatened species of plant life in our forests. Law protects these. NEVER pick any plant or flower and stay on trails to prevent damage to these plants and for your own safety. Please stay off of all vegetation; all un-cleared areas outside of your campsite are for enjoying the view, not stepping on. We make our sites very large so you'll have room to stretch out. There is a grassy play field below the bathhouse for games.

Most of our native plants require the exact soil, elevation and conditions they are growing in here and CANNOT be duplicated in your home garden. Please DO NOT dig up or take any plant from our property. If we sell it in our nursery, you may purchase and take it home from there. We'll provide instructions for proper planting.

There are two poisonous snakes that live in our woods, the Timber Rattlesnake and the Copperhead. Keep your eyes open, and watch where you step or stick your hands. Two poisonous spiders of concern here are the Brown Recluse and the Black Widow. You may see pictures of each of these in the camp store and learn about how to identify, avoid and respect these creatures.

Poisonous plants are removed by hand from your campsite but grow freely in the woods. PLEASE STAY ON TRAILS!
